CWToday is an independent local news website run by two people who care about Coventry and Warwickshire. We started it because local news should be useful, quick to access and focused on the places people actually live.

Our promise: local news on CWToday will never be put behind a paywall.

We will never charge readers simply to access our local news articles. If CWToday earns money through advertising, sponsorship or other commercial activity, that will not change the promise that our core local news remains free to read.

Our patch

We cover Coventry and the whole of Warwickshire, including Nuneaton, Bedworth, Rugby, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Kenilworth and Stratford-upon-Avon, as well as the communities around them.

What we cover

We follow breaking local news, councils, emergency services, roads and traffic, planning and development, jobs, community issues, local sport and events. Our aim is to make CWToday useful throughout the day, not just when a major story breaks.

Two people, one local newsroom

CWToday is currently operated by Joe and Scott. Being a small newsroom means we cannot be everywhere at once, so tips, photographs, corrections and information from readers and local organisations are an important part of how we find stories. Everything still has to meet our editorial standards before publication.

Accuracy and transparency

We aim to use primary sources wherever practical, distinguish confirmed information from allegations or rumours, credit third-party imagery correctly and correct significant mistakes transparently.

Independent and local

Advertising and commercial relationships do not determine our editorial coverage. Readers, clubs, organisations and businesses can send us information, but inclusion remains an editorial decision.
