CWToday aims to publish accurate, fair and clearly sourced local journalism. We distinguish confirmed facts from allegations, rumour, opinion and eyewitness claims.
Where possible we use primary sources such as emergency services, councils, courts, public bodies, clubs and direct statements. Community and social-media posts are treated as leads until they can be corroborated.
Stories are reviewed before publication, and we do not knowingly invent quotes, facts or sources. When we make a significant mistake, we aim to correct it clearly and promptly.
For crime, deaths, injuries and allegations we use cautious language, respect legal restrictions and avoid implying guilt before conviction.
