A new skate park in Bedworth is already proving a hit with local riders after opening at Miners Welfare Park.

Skateboarders, BMX riders and scooter users have been making the most of the new facility, which has brought a dedicated skate park back to the town after the previous one was removed.
Among those welcoming the opening is 32-year-old skater Daniel Lucas, who said having a quality skate park back in Bedworth had been a long time coming.
Daniel said he had previously travelled as far as Nottingham, Milton Keynes and Leicester in search of good places to skate.
Now, he believes Bedworth has one of the best facilities around.
He said the new park was the best he had used within around 30 miles, with its mix of different features giving riders plenty to try.
The park includes ramps, bowls and ledges and has been designed to cater for skateboarders, BMX riders, scooter users, inline skaters and WCMX users.
It has already attracted a good crowd, with riders of different ages turning up to try out the new facility.
The skate park was designed and built by Canvas Spaces, with the local community involved in the project.
Safety guidance displayed at the entrance asks people to respect other users and recommends appropriate protective equipment while using the park.
For local skaters such as Daniel, however, one of the biggest benefits is simply having somewhere good to skate close to home.
Instead of travelling to other towns and cities across the Midlands, Bedworth’s skating community now has a purpose-built facility on its doorstep — and judging by the number of people already using it, it appears to have been well worth the wait.
