A 27-year-old man has been charged following a series of reported assaults in Stratford-upon-Avon. Warwickshire Police launched an investigation after a number of incidents were reported in the town during the early hours of Friday 14 August. One victim was reportedly approached on The Willows at around 2.14am and assaulted, leaving him with serious injuries. Police said they were investigating a number of other reports with similarities which took place in Stratford between 1am and 3am. A man was arrested at around 6am on Friday as officers carried out what they described as a fast-moving investigation. Warwickshire Police has confirmed that Trenton Lewis, 27, of Hertford Road, Stratford-upon-Avon, has been charged. He faces charges of racially aggravated grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm, inflicting grievous bodily harm without intent, and two counts of racially aggravated assault occasioning actual bodily harm. Lewis was remanded in custody to appear at Coventry Magistrates' Court on Saturday 15 August. Police had previously appealed for anyone who witnessed the incidents or had information that could assist the investigation to come forward.
