Police have made three arrests during patrols and enforcement activity across Coventry, including an 18-year-old found with a knife and cannabis at Pool Meadow. West Midlands Police said officers from its Eastern Guardian Taskforce had been carrying out high-visibility patrols alongside neighbourhood and specialist Project Servator teams. Guardian officers carried out knife sweeps near Coventry Transport Museum and in Lady Herbert Gardens, Primrose Hill and Edgwick Park. Officers also patrolled around Far Gosford Street and carried out proactive vehicle stops and checks in Radford. Police said that a day later, Guardian officers arrested an 18-year-old at Pool Meadow after he was found in possession of a knife and cannabis. During a separate Project Servator deployment in Coventry city centre, two more people were arrested. One was arrested on suspicion of theft and another on suspicion of sexual assault as part of an ongoing investigation. Project Servator deployments use a mixture of uniformed and plain-clothes officers and take place regularly and unpredictably. West Midlands Police said the activity forms part of work taking place across Coventry and the wider West Midlands this summer to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
