A police officer remains in hospital in a serious condition after suffering a fractured skull during an incident in Nuneaton. Warwickshire Police said the officer attempted to stop and speak to the occupants of a suspicious black BMW on Kingswood Road at around 3pm on Sunday, 20 September. Police said the driver made off and the officer was seriously injured. He remains in hospital. A man in his 20s from Nuneaton has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving. A woman in her 20s from Nuneaton has been arrested on suspicion of possession of drugs with intent to supply and perverting the course of justice. Both remained in police custody when the force issued its appeal. Detectives are carrying out house-to-house enquiries around Kingswood Road and Salisbury Road and are asking anyone with dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage that could help the investigation to come forward.
