A new £150,000 grant scheme has been launched to help improve allotment sites across Rugby borough. Rugby Borough Council says parish councils and registered allotment associations which own or manage sites can apply for funding during the 2026/27 financial year. Grants range from £1,000 to a maximum of £25,000, with match funding encouraged but not essential. The money can be used for infrastructure and accessibility improvements, sustainability and biodiversity projects, and schemes designed to encourage gardening and community growing. The council says interest in allotment growing has increased significantly since the pandemic and hopes the investment will help revitalise sites for a new generation of growers. Eligible associations and parish councils are being contacted by the council and invited to apply.
