A Rugby man has been jailed for 12 years for sexual offences against a boy dating back more than three decades. Warwickshire Police said Abed Hussain, 69, from Rugby, was convicted by a jury in June of nine non-recent sexual offences committed against a boy who was in his early teens in 1993. Police said Hussain was in a position of authority over the victim at the time. The offences were reported more than 30 years later after the victim unexpectedly encountered Hussain in a supermarket. Hussain denied the offences but was convicted of four counts of gross indecency, four counts of indecent assault and one count of buggery under legislation applying to the historic offences. He was sentenced at Warwick Crown Court on 11 September to 12 years in prison.
