Six people have been arrested on suspicion of abduction following the disappearance of two girls from Rugby. The girls, aged 11 and 12, had been reported missing from the Newbold area of Rugby in the early hours of Sunday before being located safe and well in Cornwall. Warwickshire Police said officers have been investigating how the girls came to be in Cornwall, with assistance from Devon and Cornwall Police. Two men aged 62 and 25 and a woman aged 56 from Tintagel, Cornwall, were arrested in the early hours of Wednesday 12 August. A 42-year-old man from Falmouth was also arrested, followed later by two women aged 75 and 47 from Rugby. All six were arrested on suspicion of abduction. Police said all of those arrested are known to the girls and stressed there is no wider threat to the community. Officers are expected to remain visible in the area while enquiries continue, including speaking to residents and carrying out house-to-house enquiries.
