A free family cycling event is returning to Bedworth this Sunday, with BMX displays, games, bike repairs and second-hand bicycles among the attractions. The Big Bicycle Bash will take place at Miners' Welfare Park on Sunday 16 August as part of a day celebrating cycling in the borough. The event runs from 11am until 2pm and admission is free. Visitors will be able to watch displays from Nuneaton BMX Club as well as take part in speed games and other activities. There will also be prizes and freebies available, including incentives for people who cycle or walk to the event. Free bike checks and minor repairs People can bring their own bicycles along, with the Active Travel Team's Dr Bike service offering safety inspections, advice and minor repairs. Bike marking will also be available. Anyone looking for a new set of wheels could also find a bargain, with a selection of second-hand bicycles for different ages due to go on sale. Food and refreshments will be available during the event. The council says the event comes as it continues investment in leisure and physical activity facilities across Nuneaton and Bedworth.
